One Year Old!

So guess who just turned ONE? On the first day of this month. I guess now that I'm writing this a month late, she's almost 13 months! I feel so lucky to have this funny, happy, sensitive little girl in our family. I have just wanted to slow things down and enjoy every minute of Geo as a baby and she has made that easy by not being in a big rush for anything. She slept in her bassinet forever and grew a little slower than my other babies have. She loves to cuddle in the rocking chair and be carried everywhere. She's kind of spoiled. We really love this girl.

To celebrate Georgia's birthday we opened presents in the morning, which took all of 3 and a half minutes, because Anna, Max, and Charlie were happy to help. Georgia got books from Max, Oreos from Charlie, and a cute St. Patrick's Day outfit from Anna. I love watching my kids pick out presents for each other. For the rest of the day we tried to have a really fun time between naps. We took a walk in the wagon, played outside, and made birthday cupcakes. The night of Georgia's birthday we had a fun family party that was so much fun. Grandma Sonja and Grandpa Kent even came all the way from Idaho! Georgia surprised us all by really loving all her presents and not just the wrapping paper. She was thrilled with a soft bunny and a baby doll she got and kept giving them hugs and kisses. We love this girl!

Things I want to remember about Georgia at one year old. ..

  • Georgia has eight teeth and an adorable cheesy grin.
  • She doesn't crawl or walk yet, but she scoots sitting up all around the house and is pretty fast when she needs to be (Like when she can tell Max is coming in for a big hug)
  • She was a really good sleeper until recently when she decided that if anyone is awake and having a great time, she should be too. That's tricky because there is not really a super quiet, good-for-taking-naps time at our house these days.
  • Georgia loves to eat cooked carrots and peas and grapes and oranges, noodles and pancakes and Oreos.
  • Charlie and our cousin Violet call Georgia "Jo Jo".
  • Georgia loves baths and if she hears the bath water will scoot herself into the bathroom to try and get in on the fun.
  • As far as communication, Georgia can sign "outside", "more", "milk", and "eat". She can say "tweet" and "woof" and growl really well. And she can yell at people and get them to do what she wants.
  • She likes to be where the action is, so if all the kids go running out of the living room and leave her there, she yells for them until on of them comes back and drags her by her armpits to wherever they have moved the party to.
  • She loves to listen to music and to dance and dance.
  • She hates the doctors and also horses.
  • She likes to show people her toes and her pretty hair.
  • Georgia is a sweetheart.
