We Love the Zoo!

We met Taylor at the zoo on Friday afternoon since he had meetings in Salt Lake. We were too excited to take naps before we left so everyone was a little tired, but we held it together for the most part. Max wanted to get in with every animal. I think he took Taylor's joke about putting him in with the monkeys so that he could swing around with them seriously, and it looked like a lot of fun to him to get closer to the animals. Anna, on the other hand, was afraid of almost all the animals except for the penguins, and asked me what each animal ate--just to make sure that they weren't thinking she looked yummy. We brought a picnic, which I was very proud of, and had a great time.

We stopped on our way home and visited the Thompsons who are very special to me. It was the first time they had seen Charlie. I wish I had taken a picture of Grandpa Thompson holding Charlie because they have almost the same name. Charlie is Charles Robert and Grandpa Thompson is Robert Charles! We also got some more grape starts since our first ones died a slow and tragic death and, speaking of death, Taylor got some gruesome tips from Grandpa Thompson about how to exterminate gophers. We were very grateful.
