Two Year Old

Things I want to remember about Charlie on his second birthday . . .

  • Charlie talks Curious George style. He gets the right intonation, but usually none of the right sounds. He is super good, though, at letting us know what he wants.
  • Charlie is sweet. He has big blue eyes and such a handsome smile and he loves his mom and dad and brother and sister. He likes to give hugs and rock-a-bye.
  • Charlie loves books. He will sit still and listen to stories for a long time. If I ever sit down on the couch Charlie shows up right away with a book.
  • Charlie is not in a huge hurry to grow up. He likes his high chair, likes it when mom feeds him his dinner, likes his crib, likes to be carried.
  • Charlie likes to wrestle. Max and Dad are his favorite buddies for wrestling.
  • Charlie loves animals.
  • Charlie went through a stage not very long ago when he had about forty very special toys and he wanted to carry them all with him everywhere. He would get so frustrated about it and completely melt down. We found a back pack for him to put all his toys in and then for a few weeks we took the backpack to the grocery store, back yard, everywhere with us.
  • Charlie is good at coloring and also snipping. He has some plastic scissors that he snips up paper with and it can keep him busy for a very impressive amount of time.
  • Charlie likes to sing and even though he doesn't say a ton of words yet, he can sing a pretty sweet song. He mostly makes up his songs and sings them to his little guys.
  • Charlie loves babies. He loves his cousin Violet and works really hard to be soft. I think he actually understands more than I was expecting him to that we are going to have a new baby in our family, and he's really excited. He will be such a good big brother.
We love you Charlie Robert!!
