Holding Max

Anytime Anna has full access to Max (which is about never) it is a sweet, but scary situation. She is very enthusiastic about her little brother, which I am mostly grateful for. She wants to kiss him, hold him, show me his eyes and his bellybutton, and show him all of her wonderful toys. When he cries from his crib she first comes and tells me "Mama, baaaaaby!" while pointing frantically, and if I fail to take control of the situation immediately, she proceeds to toss anything that she thinks might comfort him over the side of the crib. When Anna was a baby, I ran to pick her up when she cried because I just couldn't stand to hear it. With Max, I run to protect him from his very loving big sister.
