Two things to announce...
1) We have matching approval! We found out a couple weeks ago and I am a little slow to post on here, but we are so relieved to be past that big step, glad that it didn't take longer, and so excited to get on with the process.
2) Also, we are going to name our little boy Simon. I love it. I especially love it when Georgia points to his picture and says "Simon!", and when Anna and Max and Charlie pray for Simon. We are all trying to wait patiently.
We have a few more steps to go in the adoption process and are still thinking we will travel in the fall. That's soon enough to seriously start getting ready for actually having Simon home. I decided that we needed a more spacious play room, so we moved the couch and large entertainment center out of our downstairs and made room with a smaller entertainment center and beanbags. It's nice. Then we moved Georgia's crib into Anna's room and that's a party. Georgia will eventually be on the bottom bunk, but we're trying to take things one step at a time. Then we got a big dresser for the girls and moved Anna's old dresser to Georgia's old room, and I have a whole list of other similar things that I want to do to get ready, or more accurately that I need Taylor to do for us to be ready. He's a good guy. Last Saturday in the middle of the furniture moving Taylor told me he'd been bracing himself for weeks waiting for my crazy nesting instincts to kick in. When I'm nesting I guess I want to move furniture around. My husband doesn't like or usually see a need for moving furniture around, he just does it because he loves me. Anyway, that is what we did last weekend.
Also, we got to send a package to Simon that he will hopefully get soon. We made him a family picture book with letters from each of us and pictures of each of us. We also made a video of all of us reading him a story. (this one)
And we sent him a bear that we got him in Disneyland last December.
I can't wait for him to get it and for his little hands to hold things we picked out and made for him.
Pretty much, things are going great, and I am feeling anxious and peaceful and excited and impatient and blessed.
