Memorable Moments

  • Anna gave herself a haircut with her safety scissors and some of her bangs are less than an inch long now. I told her how we don't use our scissors to cut anything but paper. She told me "I was just thinking the same thing, mom!" Then she told me that at first she thought it would be a good idea, but after she did it she thought maybe it was a bad idea. I think we all know that feeling.
  • Charlie is crawling! He isn't happy about it, but he's crawling. I think he's not happy about the amount of effort that is required in this endeavor. He crawls a little, then stops and lies down for a little breather, then gets up and keeps going. This kid so far is just really not all about life in the fast lane--a fact that I, as his mother, am just fine with. He is such a sweetie. We love him to pieces.
  • And lately when Charlie makes the effort to crawl over and take one of Max's toys, Max says . . . "Charlie! You can NOT have this! This is NOT a toy!" It makes me laugh. Max's toys are not considered toys--they are his tools and friends and important stuff.
  • Max named his favorite toy doggy "Doggywell Taylor Davis" after himself. See, Max's long name is Maxwell Taylor Davis, and so Doggy's long name is Doggywell Taylor Davis. Makes sense. We love Doggywell! We love Maxwell too.
  • Anna gave us a rock star concert this morning. She got all decked out and then asked me to do her hair so it would flop around when she shook her head. I wasn't sure exactly how to achieve that so we went with an up high ponytail and she was happy with it. My favorite song she performed had lyrics that said "you're my ma ma . . I'm a rock star . . . you're my grandma . . . I'm a rock star . . . your my daddy . . . I'm a rock star".
