Fall Festivities

Yes, it is Christmas time, but here are some pictures of Fall .. .

Trick of treat! (Charlie said "uh uh ee!"). I stayed home this year to hand out candy and have hot chocolate ready for everyone when they got back, in case enough sugar had not yet been inhaled. I was so surprised how long Taylor and the kids stayed out trick or treating. They were motivated little kids! I think I'm usually the one who gets cold and wants to go home.

Anna was a princess for the third year in a row and here she is at her school parade. Beautiful! Max was a knight and was very proud of his tough looking helmet and Charlie was a chubby dragon who was very proud of his tail.
We went to Cornbellies to go through the corn maze and enjoy the rest of the craziness. Here are four of my favorite boys in the world. Taylor C. and Taylor D. with Max and Charlie on their shoulders.
I was super happy that it was warm enough (barley) to carve pumpkins at the picnic table outside. So much better than in the kitchen. Here are our creepy creations.
And here is the work in progress. . .
Taylor is the Halloween guy at our house (although not pictured here). He gets as excited as the kids do, and I'm glad because if it was just up to me, they might not get quite the same Halloween experience. He makes it exciting and also scoops out all our pumpkins.

Happy Halloween and Merry Christmas!

Uncle Taylor

We are so glad to have one of our two missionary uncles/brothers back home! My brother Taylor got home a few weeks ago after two years in Oregon and it has been so great to have that kid back! What a guy! We love him.

Throwing Rocks and Hiking

Before I post about Halloween . . .

So one day the kids and I went for a drive up the canyon and found a little reservoir that looked perfect for some rock throwing. They wanted to bring dad back and show him, (he is the fun parent, after all) So a few weeks ago when it was still pretty warm outside, we brought dad to show him the secret rock throwing heaven. And because we explore when dad is around, we even found a little trail and took a hike.

Here we are hiking. I made the mistake of introducing walking sticks. I think I was trying to be the fun parent.

Charlie tried to slide down a slippery looking part of the trail. He hiked the entire way up all by himself and finally let me carry him for part of the way down. He is one big boy, and he was so tired when we got back to the car
