Davis Family Band
Taylor and the kids made a band on Sunday. They all wore their favorite hats, but not their pants (you'll notice in Anna and Max's case) and they made some really loud music. Max the cowboy played the recorder, Charlie the Moose played the tamberine, Daddy the fireman played the piano, and Anna the farmer played the maracas. Ole!

Everyday
Taylor, Anna and Max playing the piano, with Charlie working the pedals. It's good to all have a job to do.
Charlie has become an extremely busy boy lately with lots of things to do. There are always plenty of toys scattered around our house, but those are so unappealing. Charlie is an explorer, so he goes for the things that are still in drawers and closets and have not yet been scattered.

And last, these are some monster puppets we made a few weeks ago, because you can never have too many of those. Max's red monster was named "Super Monster Glasses Guy". He can fly because he has a cape. Max's yellow monster has to stay on the ground. Anna's green monster was named "Harry" but she is a girl and Anna's purple monster gets lost a lot so she glued a bell to it. That seems to help.

The First Annual Cash Dash
Who's gonna win, gonna win, gonna win? The grown ups ran a 5K and the kids ran around the block with Grandma Judy and Grandpa Bob. Max was just all ready to get started.
Ready, set, go!
Hurray!
I believe my children have inherited the Rosy Cheek Curse when it comes to exercising. It may not sound so bad, but listen to this. . . . once in college, I was jogging around the track in the Smith Field house in my BYU issue, feeling good, and a cute guy stopped me and asked if I was going to be alright--he pointed out that my face was bright red and suggested that maybe I stop running. I told him that's how I always look when I run, cause it is, and then I ran home, not wanting to show my bright red face in the Smith Field House any more that day. That's my story.
Wow, what a fun time! There were prizes--I won a whole box of fruit snack all for myself. And water bottles for everyone. And a yummy lunch together after. I like imagining the 20th annual Cash Dash--it's gonna be a fun group! Thanks Grandma Judy and Grandpa Bob!

Nine Months
Charlie at nine months . . .
And now for some picnic blanket pictures. . . Notice the mystery blob in Charlie's fluffy hair? I didn't. (I'll spare you my theory on what that is and you can use your imagination--have fun!)

- Such a good-natured little boy. I can't even express how patient and smiley and loving he is, and has been through every stage so far.
- He is no longer quite as sedentary as he used to be, which is good, but also really a lot busier. He is crawling fast, pulling himself up to things with beast-like strength and throwing his body weight around like a pro--hold on tight if you are holding him and he decides to dive for it!
- Charlie loves to bang anything he is holding on the floor, his own head, his tummy, or my head.
- Charlie can say ma ma, da da, and num num. (and that's really all that matters)
- Five and a half teeth so far.
- 27 lbs at our last doctors visit and I forgot how many inches, but he is tall. The doctor told me "You sure know how to grow em'!" That we do.
- Charlie's hair is pretty special to us. We all really love to feel how soft and fluffy it is. If it is all up to mommy, this little boy is still many moons away from his first hair cut.
- He loves his mommy and his daddy, and his big brother and sister. He gives good kisses and loves.

We love you so much Charlie Robert!

Jackson Hole
We were ready for a trip and so the man I love planned (yes, planned) a trip for us this last month--without the kids. We took them up to Grandma Sonja and Grandpa Kent's for some fun (they were so excited) and then took ourselves up to Jackson Hole. We met up with some good friends up there and had a great time together. The highlight of the trip was a ride through Teton National Park on ATV's that we rented. It was gorgeous--I didn't know I liked Wyoming, but I was totally enchanted by the landscape and also by the animals we saw (specifically buffalo--up close, very close).
