Kellie's Home!

We are extremely excited to have Kellie back from serving an LDS mission in Chicago. She is my little sister who I hope I can be like some day. She has been missed and missed and missed!

50 Years Together

We have had a large dose of family gatherings lately, which we do not mind at all. Grandma Leita and Grandpa Kent's 50th Anniversary Party was last Saturday and was lots of fun. I am thankful for good examples in my life. I love to imagine being where they are some day. The paper party plates said "50 years together" and I imagined some for us that said "4 years together"--they don't make those. I am excited to get to 50 years (and more) with Taylor, and even before that, I am excited to get to an anniversary that deserves a cruise. Did you hear that, Taylor?

Youth Conference

Last week was a week I had been looking forward to for a very long time. On top of Kellie coming home from her mission (see next post), I got to go with the amazing and highly entertaining and energetic youth of our ward to youth conference. We drove through miles of mud to get to Reid Ranch, and I learned one valuable life lesson "Don't drive in the ruts." Once there, we enjoyed some great adventures including, but not limited to, paddle boats, a faith walk, and lots of games. I learned a lot of other valuable lessons at youth conference as well and I was just so happy to be there.

Grandma Sonja and Grandpa Kent came to stay with Taylor and the kids while I was gone so that Taylor didn't have to take work off, and from what I hear, they all had a great time together here at our house. We were so, so glad they would come and play with Anna and Max for a few days.

Max's Words

So Max is kind of a man of few words, he can get most of what he wants by grunting and pointing, but a few things are important enough to articulate--here's a list of some of Max's favorite words:

Rock--important as we are filling our parking strip and playground area with rocks right now which provides Max with a lot of extra entertainment. I don't even care anymore if they are scattered everywhere.
Stuck--just a good word for Max to know.
Oops--also handy because it makes it sound like he didn't mean to throw his banana across the kitchen.
Bonk--another good word for Max to know.
Mine--a very well loved word
Broke--a good way for Max to explain a lot of things.
