House Pictures

I was going to wait and take pictures sometime when my house was all clean, then I finally realized this morning--that will never happen. So here they are. . .

From Lehi

We are loving it here in Lehi, UT. We feel like it is all pretty perfect for our family right now and I am so grateful for that. The past week has been so busy with unpacking, and a few minor and some major home improvement projects. (well, major to us) Here is a list of our accomplishments so far . . .
1) Unpacking has been a huge undertaking that is still underway.
2) Here is one for Taylor--a couple days after we moved in our garage door opener gave out. This was especially devastating to Taylor since the garage is, far and away, his favorite thing about our house. So, like the determined and afraid of next to nothing guy he is, he bought a new garage door opener and installed (a word we like to use a lot lately) it in less than four hours. I was very impressed.
3) I installed shelves in our pantry with the help of our power drill, which is actually, technically Taylor's but is becoming very dear to me as well. And also with the help of a nice man from Lowe's, who cut wood down to ridiculously precise sizes for me while answering all my questions about home improvement.
4) We installed a door on the pantry. But it won't close because (as we realize now) our pantry is shaped more like a rhombus than a rectangle. That project is still underway.
5) I installed shelves in our closets as well, again with the power drill.
6) I assembled a table with six drawers from IKEA, with the power drill.
7) Taylor took out the range hood and tried to install a microwave above our stove, but found that he first needs to cut a hole in the cupboard, then a hole in the wall, and then make a new electrical outlet. He says he knows how because of an Elder's Quorum activity, which doesn't really allay my fears of my husband getting electrocuted. So we are waiting for the microwave till Taylor's uncle is here to supervise. For now we are dealing with the square of retro wallpaper in our kitchen.
8) I scrubbed (safely, thanks to great advice from the nice man at Lowe's) about 10 square feet of mold off the cement wall in the unfinished room in our basement. It was possibly the most unpleasant cleaning experience of my life.

Anyway, there is also a long list of projects yet to be tackled, but that is just fine with us since we love it here so much. The following slide show includes some, actually many, many Easter pictures of Anna and Max, but none of our new house yet--I'll post those as soon as things around here are looking semi-orderly. Happy spring to everyone!

Craziness

This last month has brought a lot of craziness for us--A LOT. We have been looking for houses and made an offer on one in Pleasant Grove, but after weeks of waiting, it didn't work out. So we started the whole process of house searching over in somewhat of a panic, as we had already sold our contract here. That was also the same week that Max got RSV and Taylor went on a business trip to Orlando. In spite of all of that, we found a house that we think we will love in Lehi, and we are now looking forward to moving--lately when I get up in the night with Max, I can't fall back asleep because I am so excited. We are in the middle of packing right now and our house is half full, from floor to ceiling, with boxes. The other half is covered with Anna's toys and a lot of cool things she has found in the whole packing process--such as a Santa hat, tinfoil, and q-tips. She will be great help when it's time to UNpack. The BIG MOVE is planned for this weekend, so just five more days of renting and five more nights of Max sleeping in the living room--I think he's excited to have his own room, where maybe there will be some peace and quiet. We cannot wait!! And here are some really cute kids. . .
