Anna and Max on Paper

This was an award-winning family night at our house so I thought I would share.

Anna coloring Anna. When we traced Anna onto the paper she was a little concerned, but after we started coloring she loved it. She kept telling me "blue!", "blue!" , "eyes, nose, mouth" etc. (Anna thinks all crayons are called blues, but it sounds really smart i)

Anna coloring Anna's real knee. It was confusing.

We had to include Max as well--he was not as concerned as Anna was about being traced.

So now there is a little Anna and a little Max taped to the wall at our house. And also Anna is an artist--I am so proud.

Winter F U N

Last Saturday, when it was finally sunny and a balmy 40 degrees, we went sledding! I convinced Taylor that we needed to find a little baby sledding hill, so we drove about seven houses down and across the street to the elementary school. Max came along in his car seat with two blankets around him and his car seat cover on top. He slept the whole time and was a very warm, sweaty boy when we got home. Sorry, Max--too many blankets again. Anna wasn't sure about the sled at first, but decided it was actually really hilarious when dad went down head first. He's so fUnny! She was game for whatever after that (for at least twenty minutes, which is quadruple her usual attention span) Half an hour after we left we were back home and warm and dry, and ready for a nap--my kind of sledding.

The little baby hill was, after all, plenty of excitement!

She really did write this.

Holding Max

Anytime Anna has full access to Max (which is about never) it is a sweet, but scary situation. She is very enthusiastic about her little brother, which I am mostly grateful for. She wants to kiss him, hold him, show me his eyes and his bellybutton, and show him all of her wonderful toys. When he cries from his crib she first comes and tells me "Mama, baaaaaby!" while pointing frantically, and if I fail to take control of the situation immediately, she proceeds to toss anything that she thinks might comfort him over the side of the crib. When Anna was a baby, I ran to pick her up when she cried because I just couldn't stand to hear it. With Max, I run to protect him from his very loving big sister.

Handsome Max

Here are some pictures I took of our handsome little guy when we made it to three weeks old!
Max has had a cold (in spite of the huge bottle of Purrel we have gone through for his sake) He seems like he is getting better and I am starting to think that he is actually a really good baby--he just wasn't feeling so good during his first couple weeks of life, but i think he'll get this sleeping thing down yet!

Good Morning Anna

Because of the holidays, Taylor was able to take a whole week and a half off after Max was born. Having him home helped out a lot--like this day when he served Anna a tray of Lucky Charms for breakfast, and then took pictures of her after she had stuck them to her head.

Note: Taylor really did hold down the fort and took excellent care of all of us while Max and I were in the hospital--and at the same time took his last two BYU finals ever!

I don't think there are words for this picture.

Words

Okay, I finally decided to add words to our pathetic picture blog (after all I believe that is the idea). So you can now look forward to reading ABOUT the pictures if you choose to. Just wanted to warn everyone.
